As the title says.
Just a thread to show the Devs not everyone is against them.
I know there is a poll with discussion ongoing.
The number of people voting for it also shows some support.
The overall negativity just naggs on me and I feel there has been lost a lot of communication and interaction between us and them.
Anyway, this is just a thumbs up.
Pretty sure it will be flushed down quickly :)

Uhm...if its instant...or takes time. Doesnt change the underlying problem with instant transfer.
It doesnt matter if a murderer walks or drives to his victim...the victim dies anyway.

If people want to change anything, they should play the beta when its arrives and "show" how exploitable instant ship transfer is. I already made a list of suggestion about how to make it less exploitable in its respective thread.

Ship transfer is good, instant ship transfer is bad but I could live with it.

But instant CHEAT transfer is bad, and this is how this so called 'feature' should be named, since no one at FD seems able to tell us how they intend to prevent this feature to be exploited to death, like combat logging, noobs griefing and robigo stacking ... Which are all happening *right now* and are children play compared to what we"ll get in 2.2.

Do you mean "I was griefing everyone who came into system X with my modded corvette for the lols, but now they can respawn in corvettes and fight me back. Unfair!!"

i like the idea of instant transfer, i just don't want to see the feature become an important part of any gameplay loop, because there's no limits on how many times it can be used per session

Guys, this isn't "yay or nay 2.0".
Kindly head over to the poll to state your arguments why you dislike it.

In every patch there are features people dislike, potential loopholes open up or imbalances surface.
The admittedly provocative title just highlihts one of them.

My point is that the community is giving alot of feedback and I believe, either positive or negative, it is very much welcomed by the dev team.
However I remember times when there was alot more interaction between devs and us and looking back through the pages there is so much hate and anger rolling at them, I could understand why they go more and more silent.
I wouldn't like it myself to argue with an angry mob.
Lately Sandro became the target (most likely due to his position) and he tried to explain himself and the companies decision.
To what outcome? Personal attacks and even shouts for boycot (luckily and cleverly ignored).

Is this the way we are going to communicate with them from now on?
Instead of a civilized discussion? (Although there are many doing so!)
Offline mode, Route plotter, instant transfer, what's next?

Haven't you guys asked yourselves why they didn't look for community input regarding the transfer in the first place? (Like tourism)

Quality of life will improve greatly.
For instance,last night i decided to level 5 my shields on the rest of my ships,i had enough for 7 rolls.
So i travel to get my A rated i-eagle. Due to its woeful fuel scoop,the whole immersive experience involves a lot of parking next to a star and waiting a long time not moving.
Now some people would have enjoyed the whole experience,basking in enormity of the galaxy.
I however did not,if anything it broke the immersion because i watched the telly!
To upgrade all of my ships could take months!
Months i could be exploring the galaxy or working on my combat rank or............
You don't have to use instant transfer in 2.2,it isn't mandatory.

exactly. I was out in the Pleiades last week in my Asp, when the Fed/Empire battle broke out. If we had ship transfers, I could have jumped in my Courier and taken part. As it is I couldn't be bothered to go all the way back to the bubble, switch ships, and take like 40 jumps back out, so I stayed there counting barnacles. Transfer will open up areas of gameplay for people who wouldn't usually take part. So I agree with FD, it's a good thing.

I am still in favor of player ship transfer let the players haul ships for a fee SPACE TRUCKING FOR THE WIN!!!

AND LETS GET SOME PROPER FLEET MECHANICS IN THE GAME WHILE YOU ARE AT IT!!!!

I am in the camp of non-instant, but it's not going to stop me playing 2.2 - and I have a nagging feeling that there'll be some instances in the future where I am glad it is instant.

I suggest we go to the Winchester, have a pint, teleport all our ships there, and wait for this to all blow over.


Also, admittedly, I've probably made some less-than-stellar comments about Frontier taking good ideas and then implementing them in the most basic way - but I am still invested in them and the game.

It's hilarious that Frontier is claiming they are doing this to make most of the community happy yet most of us seem dead set against it.

Now I know what that 1950 girl must have felt like on a date when the dude ordered her food for her. "Trust me babe, your gonna love this!"

And right here is the whole problem.
It's instant,it has to be instant otherwise it doesn't work.
It fixes the problem Niamhy pointed out. And many other hoops that we need to jump through from time to time.
Thats the reason for doing it in the first place.
