From patch notes:
Except now, some signals disappear entirely. You can still hear them when the scanner passes over them, but they won't show up on it. The sounds are the only way I've found anything post-2.2.

Still living up to your forum name, I see.
Yes, a one-sentence-long reply in confirmation of an issue experienced by others is now "obnoxious." Do you also say that every time someone reports a bug? Is bug-reporting just trolling to you?

I've found that, for certain outcrops etc, the scanner show them as right under your nose when they aren't. Go a few hundred meters further and the outcrop will appear, but the scanner readout has stopped. This doesn't affect the audio, which you can still use to find the outcrop. it's as if they are being registered a few hundred meters away from their actual location for the graphical part of the scanner, but are placed correctly for the audio portion.
This doesn't happen on every formation though. I've yet to see if it can be tied down to a specific type or not.
I think what they've done is to make the signal show up at longer ranges, without lengthening the time it takes to narrow. So, when you get within a few hundred meters of it, the signal animation on the scanner has played itself out.
