2.3 HOTAS lighting distracts in VR

The new-for-2.3 spotlights on the in-game HOTAS bother me in VR. It's like driving in a car at night with the dome light on — distracting and annoying. Additionally, the in-game HOTAS controls are all illuminated, so they don't need ambient light to be seen. FDEV, if possible, please either remove this lighting or create an option to turn it off. :D

I agree with this. It's spoiling the ambiance. I rather liked it the way it was.
 
I think it's due to a new ambient light they added so that your cmdr and those in other seats are always illuminated a bit and don't end up sitting in darkness. You can blame the new holo me's and camera controls for all that.

They could always just do what loads of people have been asking for, for ages and that's implement a cockpit light switch.

A light switch would toggle many things on and off. I think choice to turn off the more jarring effects would be best. The real issue is the hotas lighting, that's what we need a switch or slider for.
