[2.3] Questions/Suggestions to improve the Camera Suite/Free Camera

1) Maybe I've missed something, but it seems that the only way to get to the Free Camera is via the Camera Suite - is there no shortcut to go straight from first person mode to Free Cam (and back)? To be honest I can't see many reasons for me to use the Fixed Cameras as they stand - if I want to take a screenshot I'll usually go straight outside and move the camera around the ship or SRV etc. I'm guessing that the way it's set up right now the Camera Suite defines the location that the Free Cam starts from (i.e. in the cockpit, below the ship, etc) - could it not just remember where the Free Cam started the previous time if they were separated?

2) Why are there separate buttons for Toggle Camera Suite - Ship and Toggle Camera Suite - SRV? Can we not just have a single "Toggle Camera Suite" binding that works whether we're in a ship or SRV?

3) Are there any indications for what the Camera Speed currently is? I don't see a visual indicator for that, currently all I have go by is the sound as the speed is increased or reduced, and whether the camera zooms around or crawls around. Some kind of visual gauge would be nice.

4) Is there a way to determine the current FOV is in degrees at each zoom level? I know it says Zoom 0x to 2.5x, but could it say that in degrees as well? (or maybe have an option - maybe in the right hand Functions panel? - to show that in degrees rather than multiplication factor). That can be a bit vital to making panorama screenshots. The FOV is defined in degrees anyway in the config file (I think the default vertical FOV is 54.32°?)

5) Is there a way to define what the presets are in the Camera Suite? If not, could we have a way to redefine them? Maybe I'd want to press a button to get a front view (looking forward from the front end of the ship), another to get a rear view (looking back from the rear of the ship), and another two buttons for the left and the right view (looking out from the left and right of the ship), like in the original game :).
 
All this is very obvious except to FD. You'd expect it to remember any last used Camera changes and I especially hate the HUD always ON as default. Simple to do surely. The external views seem to be placed for Fighter Docking; Looking across at Fighter in Formation; and looking at how top Turrets look when firing. Hardly what we want to use always but once known may be fine in these circumstances.
 
I'm sure they will improve the camera suite. It just got released and I'm very happy that we got a new camera system. That's already an improvement compared to the old one.

What I would like to see are presets for flyby camera perspectives that you can use to record some nice cinematic flyby scenes. That would be awesome!

I will setup my camera suite within the next couple of days. I had a rough setting for the beta but I think one has to invest 1 to 2 hours to get it done propperly. So far, it works somehow but not great.
 
Oh it's definitely got the potential to be better - it's so nice to go further from the ship than before! But it is a *lot* more complicated to set up and get working properly than before. The speed thing seems really sensitive too, but maybe I'm missing something in the setup to adjust that.
