Horizons 2.4 - So, is that it then?

You know, after 1,000+ hours, I still love this game; well, mostly anyway.

But what happened to 2.4?

After all the hype weeks ago at the expo, nothing of substance since.

It feels as if FD are saying, "Well, we've given them something to keep them interested for a bit. What shall we do now; any ideas?"

Just feel FD are playing with us and not really serious anymore.

Anyone got anything positive to say after the great Thargoid bore of 2.4?

Well........ my group like it as we like the "go out and fight the aliens if you want" approach. We did this and had a blast, much rebuy screens later. Then we returned to our corner of the galaxy and liked the increased missions on the mission board etc and we carry on doing our thing.
So for us we like it as it did not break the game that we all love and play lots.... does that make sense? Kind of a backwards complement i know....
The sunglasses are cool!

Shhhhhhh, I think they are stretching it out because of a lack of vision/ideas. Don't tell anyone.

I might have heard something, that somebody heard something who had been told that 2.4 will be delivered in 4 parts...but *shhhhhhhh

Painfully slow development rate explains why I haven't been playing for 3 months now. None of my friends are either.

So, guessing I will ask here, I have been away for many months. Updated early this week and went out for a quick mission. I noticed that no one I played with was on nor did anyone show up so wondering what have I missed if anything? Also did they fix stuff like the upgrading of your engines, weapons, ect.. I didn't like they way they had it set that it was a roll of the dice to see what kind of upgrade you would get, that was about the most stupid idea of upgrading I ever heard, Why would I go to a garage to make my car better only to have them make it worse??? Anyhow guess my main question is how is it? better?

I agree. I like the increased number of missions. I get a nervous feeling when I'm passing through the Plieades systems due to the introduction of the aliens. The graphics look better to me.

This game still much better than the other space sim. Compare what we had from Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous so far.. I have still my hopes from FD

The point is, though, this is NOT SC.

When elements of US electorate criticised Trump, the Trump supporters responded with "But Hilary Clinton did ---", Which is evading addressing the actual critique.

Sure SC is possibly never going to even reach a release, and thankfully, we've all been able to play ED - but FDev could really do better and they've dropped the ball a few times and disappointed a numebr of people on a number of occasions.

With any creative endeavour, especially where tastes and expectations are so varied as with a videogame - particularly one so uniquely defined as ED - it's not a typical MMO, it's not a generic space-shooter, it doesn't align entirely with any other (ironic, sine so many of those others were inspired/influenced by (others originally influenced by) Elite in the first place. -- It's really never going to be smooth sailing, and there will always be dissatisfaction, divergent opinion and ideals.

It's early days, the Thargoids need to be gradually increased and the threat staged over time. We're getting new weaponry and new fighters (for the combat), there's more to uncover and learn (for the explorers), there's more wealth and availability in Thargoid-related materials (forr traders and pirates.
So far, 2.4 is bringing MORE to every facet of the game.
