2.5 *Insert feature here*

So, space legs isnt coming anytime soon. Earth-like landings are even further away. The season model is under review, and may be scrapped, which is perhaps a result of the lack of a worthwhile headline feature.

So, if Fd move away from the season model, and more to a PDS (EU:4, CK:2, HOI:4) style of update, what would you like 2.5 to be? What would you fork over £7-£10 for as an update?

Personally, I'm hoping for NPC crew, and NPC wings. I'd drop £10 for that.

How about you?

There's going to be a 2.5? Thought the season is going to end on 2.3.

After that it's just probably 3.0 "the Thargoids" and incorporating alien technology into our ships via something similar to Engineers?

- Atmospheric non-earthlike worlds

Ammonia, Sulphur, Gas Giants, Europa, the moon.

Those planets should be something to focus on.

War is the future.

War between the Federation and Empire for Alliance space
War between Humanity and the Thargoids
War between Humanity and the enemies of the Thargoids
War between Humanity and an unknown alien race

Why do i think this? We are being handed all the tools and equipment to fight... I feel almost as if I have made it to a rest area just around the corner from a big raid boss and the game is letting me feel powerful before smacking me and my team in the face with a galactic sized wet kipper!

Season 2 stops after 2.4. I suspect there will continue to be major updates (what were seasons, so 3, 4 etc) just from an ease of code branching/version management perspective. If they're going to do point releases for all updates, then the configuration management becomes a nightmare unless you maintain exclusive of the install base (which is impossible with a consumer product).

Personally, I still think the season model is fine. The issue is more about stakeholder management and communications (as ever with Frontier).

This is the same for me. We've had time to engineer, they've added military grade modules and now multi-crew to give us extra fire power. I think we are being prepped for war, with aliens/thargoids

We could start the cycle again and rework everything?

x.0 Core game.
x.1 Community Goals.
x.2 Wings.
x.3 Powerplay.
x.4 CQC
x.5 Moar Ships.
x.6 Planetary landings (By which point we should have atmospheres possible)
x.7 Removal of RNG.
x.8 SLF
x.9 Multi Crew (Including more roles)

...and see where we go from there.

Space legs, Flora and Fauna on planets. That's what I'm waiting for. If I were luxurious I'd add base building and planet survival to the list.

That's all I'm waiting for.

I'm going to be space dust myself before it happens in ED.

Nuclear strike tag

Requirements: Allied with a major superpower.
Recommended: A fast as hell ship.

Fly to a marked location. Pinpoint the target with your targetting sensors. Wait until the nuclear missiles are about to strike. Be faster than them to get the hell out of there!

Yeah, it's not going to happen but... Man, it would be cool!

Will 2.5/3.0 add new gameplay? Maybe new roles for multicrew or new ship module management features?
If the answer is yes, I'll probably consider the purchase. If no, I'll simply skip the next dlc. Simple.

Am I the only one actually enjoying the randomness of RNGineers?

*hides*

I don't mind it - but then I am not in the "I must grind everything to have the bestest ship ever" mindset. UI-wise, I wouldn't have presented it the way it has been but the randomness actually makes logical sense if you look at it in the context of David Braben's original description of how it came about.

Yeah, basically I'd like them to rework a lot of core parts of the current game.

Remove a lot of the rng stuff and start adding persisent npcs and locations.
Add visual clues (other than letters) to the BGS. SHOW us that a system is in turmoil, boom, famine, whatever.
Add unique exploration content! Ringworlds, space ruins, machine remnants, comets, lost colonies, whatever.
Remove combat zones and res sites. Let these things develop organically out of the BSG (not hey there's war lets at some random zones, but battles that make sense).

Bascially, stop making Microsoft Excel 3301 and start developing a game.
