One would be a start, in the seat that is...
FDEV said no to this, they don't want you to have two NPC's active at the same time in the fighters.
Hm... I wonder what is the reasoning behind this decision... I also would very much like both fighters deployed in my PvE sessions...
The fighters are cool, I like switching between helm and fighter frequently, taking out eagles in the fighter is so much fun...
Karlos
Apparently, two NPC fighters are OP, whereas two Multicrew CMDRS in fighters aren't. They must hold a very high esteem of their AI.
I do not understand what the problem is with having two AI SLF's. In my opinion the big 3 were meant to be overpowered, after all you dont spend hundreds of MILLIONS of credits for a ship that something smaller and cheaper can do just as well.
Especially since multi-crew seems very dead
Not to mention players can block other players who screw around or otherwise act in an anti-social manner. If you set off a sequential chain of heat sink for lulz you may not find a lot of CMDR's willing to take you onboard.I quite regularly go into CZs, and whenever I do, I open up my Corvette. Normally I have 2 crew members within a couple of minutes. If one drops out, they are soon replaced. From that perspective, "very dead" seems and entirely wrong description.
My guess is that you say it's dead because you try to join someone else's ship, and that far more people want to do this than open up their own ship, so you get placed in a long queue.
Maybe FDev need to provide a bit more incentive for people to open up their ships?

Just sayin'
