I thought that I would just share my experience of myjourney throughout the game. I have just ranked up to Combat Elite (Yippie!)having been Explorer Elite for about 6 months. I have only a Trade rank ofMerchant so I guess I still have a ways to go before doing the triple.
Amazingly I bought the game (pre Horizons) on the 11[SIZE=2]th[/SIZE]July 2015 (checked in the Frontier store) so I have been playing it on and offfor exactly 2 years. My in game time is 4 weeks 1day and 22 hours (about 30days). I am sure many of you fellow Elitists have reached CE much quicker but Itry not to grind for goals too much. Having said that once I got to about 80%deadly I did push for it.
For all the Cmdrs that have just turned Deadly and foranyone else that is interested I kept a log of the last 20% of kills. Every 1%took between 25 and 27 kills on average raging form Expert to Elite. I focusedmy efforts mainly in Haz res sites and did not find any of the lower rankedNPCs (just as well as I don’t think they count anyway). So for me moving fromDeadly to Elite I reckon I must have made between 2,500 and 2,700 kills!
Throughout the game I have only made 16 insurance claims (whichI think is pretty amazing in itself) playing in the open and in private groups.It would have been 15 but I forgot to increase my life support in my Anacondaand ran out of O2 right outside the letterbox...kaboom! I should have knownbetter as I learned that mistake in a Vulture with a rice paper canopy.
Ships I have bought in the game: Sidewinder (sold), Adder(sold) Cobra Mk3 (kept as a taxi), Cobra Mk4 (kept for mining), Vulture (sold),Fer De Lance (sold), Asp Explorer (kept for exploring and passenger missions,41LY range), Anaconda (kept for combat).
I had hoped for some fireworks or something when I got themessage but the only reward seems to be the Founders World permit (which I hadanyway for some reason) and Elite Decals in Holo Me and ship outfitting. Ithink we should get a nice reward from the store like a credit for ship kits orcoloured lasers etc. Or do you think I am asking too much?
Altogether a great game which I will keep playing as I wantto rank up to get a Corvette. I played the original Elite back in 1984 but onlymanaged to reach Deadly then (having kids get the blame for that!) so really Icould say it has taken me almost 33 years to reach hallowed ground ha ha!
Sorry for waffling on a bit but us 63 year olds tend to dothat when we get excited!
