Let's start with B-rated modules... they're useless in most modules.
Simple fix idea 1: Remove/reduce the weight penalty of B-rated modules. Make them a valid choise if you need less powerdraw but a good module. The weight penalty combined with less than ideal performance is just off putting at the moment.
Simple fix idea 2: instead of reducing weight, increase the main stats to same or close to as A-rated modules have. Cheaper A-level modules with B rated heat efficiency and more weight.
There.. now for the sensors
Sensor rating seems to do nothing in game. Apparently it's supposed to increase your lock on range to targets but max range is the same. Also, all ships are lockable to 8km when their heat level is at 30% or higher.. which is near all ships in combat (stealth builds excluded).
Not so simple perhaps, but a possible fix/improvement: Make detection of the ships bit harder. As in increase the heat level required for max range detection. And make the lock on distances bit more varied between the different rated sensors.
30% heat for max range (which is same for all ratings) was tested multiple times. If someone is going to test it more, feel free to post your results
I would love to be wrong with this "issue" .. but in current state, there seems to be no benefits of having anything but D rated sensors. Extra weight and powerdraw is just not worth it at the momentm since they all seem to work the same. I've heard rumours that better rated sensors make gimbals and turrets better... Any test result from this would be nice too.
