2 people wanted! In news letter 36 :D

I would imagine that FD have all the data, and therefore the exact reasons why the two individuals are so notorious.

Teeny hint at who/where they are would be nice.

The only thing missing are the actual commander names! :D

I dont think it should be an issue no

It's an issue because once a wanted player is destroyed and the bounty claimed then their slate is wiped clean. However, if their name is in the minds of other players then potentially they'll constantly be targeted perhaps.

I don't think it is. When someone claims the bounty I think it comes out of your own pocket (or will eventually). Plus You still have to pay any fines incurred and will loose your insurance. Though I think murder should be a percentage of your wealth rather than a fixed fee, because it's not harsh enough atm :)

I agree that real time updates to a bounty should be out, for both game play purposes and for ingame sense. But I don't think it should be limited to just station news, having to check in all the time. What if when your bounty does something to get attention, it goes to the updates in the station. If you don't check that update in X hours, it then will broadcast the latest to you where you are. That gives you both feedback as well as incentive to continue the hunt, if the trail has gotten cold. But it also gives the bounty some time to move around, realizing that if they stay in a spot, they're going to get found eventually.

It should be fair to both pirates and hunters. I think someone playing a pirate/criminal knows that it's not going to be easy staying ahead of the law, but they should be given enough chance to make good choices and be able to do that. And it makes sense that someone signed up to find a person would get updated when informants get news, not just when they check in to get their mail.

Maybe there could be some kind of alert system in place when a PC, be he a trader, explorer etc, comes across someone with a Wanted tag of some significance, could relay the sighting to the local authorities, which could then be intercepted by bounty hunters?

You could be in SC, see a ship, and if you target it, ID it and it comes back Wanted £150,000! and you were not in an Anarchy system, it could automatically relay that to the authorities, or maybe have to be manually done by the player.

It makes larger bounty fiends have to be careful of contact they want to avoid, kind of like how the general public help with sightings of known criminals on the run.

Great stuff! Topping the "Galaxies most wanted list" and staying there will earn a pilot major kudos. And paint a bulls eye on them, even after they are finally brought down (if ever! :))

i hope that eventually proper bounty hunting resources are implemented, leads, hints, system scanners and the like, a little luck should still be there but without hunting tools how can one expect to bounty hunt?
in which case bounties might be an actual game mechanic, rather than just a roadblock to lawful stations ;)

That's a good idea. Same about a hint for who the two mentioned in the newsletter are.

You completely missed my point.

Got to say I'm a bit disappointed in the K scanner, you have to get pretty close and stay close while it scans. In the meantime if he is a villain he can just tear into you. You end up having to fight and kill before the scan is complete, or if your in a much better ship you have to complete the scan while fighting. Ok in a Viper v Sidewinder fight but not much else.

If you've paid for a K scanner the info should come up in a normal scan.
