Newcomer / Intro 2 Questions - Adder & Cargo Racks

I've been checking wiki, and it would seem that my (B)eagle is capable of hauling 10 units of cargo along with keeping shield generators, but I can't seem to fit more than 6, I've hit every shop in a 500 Ly straight line and I haven't found a bigger rack yet... my question should be apparent by now...

I've trolled myself. I've been exploring to earn fast reliable buck for the hauler, but now I'm suddenly found myself with almost 100k in my pocket. I spend my time doing a little bit of everything and I found myself needing an adder really badly because of it being able to mount so much different gear. The problem is that wiki says that I can only get one in the Suyarang system. Is an adder available somewhere... "closer"?

I just bought an Adder near LHS 3447. I believe it was a starport there or at an adjacent system. The wiki is very unreliable at the moment.

I'm not sure I can answer your questions directly but I see adders all over around Eravate. If you are anywhere near there, you could pick one up.

I'd probably recommend you get a little more than your 100k though, to cover you for insurance and to buy commodities, if needed.

I don't know where I am, in the middle of **** nowhere... If I went back to eravate now, I'd pay more for the gas than what the ship costs!

Look for a high population industrial system, they will have most of the different ship types for sale as well as a lot of upgrades.
For cargo racks, you can only fit the size of rack equivalent to the equipment slot. So a 2 ton rack fits in a class 1 slot, a 4 ton in a class 2 slot, 8 ton in a class 3 slot etc.
I haven't flown an Adder as yet so I can't help with how much they can carry.

Yeah, like Cornelius says, the size of cargo rack you need to get past 6t capacity can only be fitted in the slot your shields are currently in.

As for Adders, I'm looking to skip the Hauler and go straight to the Adder for my next upgrade too. Seen them on sale at Serebrov Station in Yakabugai

I brought my Adder in LHS3447, I have seen it in another system port within 6 light years of there as well but cannot remember which one. Have it kitted out with 18 tonnes of racks so far, it seems like a good all purpose craft and quite handy even for offensive missions.

Got the adder, got the lvl 3 rack... Looking out from it, the view is a bit... poor. Though its really nice to explore, mount exploration gear and bounty hunting gear together and just go with the flow!

So, I've also been trying to upgrade my Adder. It's currently at 12 tons, the 8t and a 4t. I still have the basic shield gen. Can someone explain exactly what shield gen I need so I can put more cargo space in? I haven't quite figured out how to tell if a generator is better or not, I am basically just looking for better grade letter and a higher class number, right?

I want to sell of my cute little hauler, but right now....it can carry more than my Adder! But, I like that the Adder can defend itself much better than the hauler.

Ah, thank you! I hadn't figured out that the slots weren't equipment-type dependent yet! Now I have a Rating C Class 1 shield gen, and 16 tons of cargo. (And yeah, first upgrades were better guns and a fuel scoop. Don't leave the dock without a fuel scoop!)
