2 questions on pulse lasers

Run fixed on the Huge hardpoint, the C4 Vs C3 argument is irrelevant personally for pvp i'd run a laser on it, for pve i'd run the huge cannon for gibbing large ships.

but basically the hardpoint is at the back center of the ship, when gimballed this means it can't shoot above about 10 degrees up from the nose as it would be shooting your own ship, it really is designed for fixed or high rotational correction.

In terms of raw power as well 2x C3 pulses = just over 3 C2 pulses, with an additional bonus vs large ship hulls which makes them roughly 2 = 4 (but for hull damage only)

As fergal says above I actually think distributor is the most important component for weapon damage, bigger capacitor + charge allows all sorts of things.

I run 2 fized beam, 2 gimballed (to my constant disgust) pulse and a huge cannon.

The cannon is basically there for decoration, unless I'm within 200m, if I was getting attacked by more players I might think about swapping it to a fixed laser of some sort, but another laser would increase my up front damage, but reduce my firing time. I can already melt targets with weaker shields, so I think overall damage is more important that a bit extra burst.

I originally ran with 4 fixed medium pulse lasers, but the time they could be shot for was fairly poor. 4 medium and one large pulse would just shoot for even less time, and you would usually be missing with some of the weapons except against larger ships, which is a waste.

Its hard to power 4 beams on the FDL, but with only 2 beam lasers and 4 pips in weapons I can overheat the ship.
