2 suggestions for carriers in Odyssey

1. Give us something to actually do in there. There is very little reason to get out of my ship. Even if it's playing space dominoes for credits while waiting on the carrier to jump.

2. Pioneer stores in FCs are currently a pointless waste of money. It's an expense I'd gladly take on if I could sell my stuff to the store and it would then appear in stock. Then I might go collecting up good stuff so I had a decent shop to visit. But just now it's pointless.

I'd love a bustling FC with lots of things there, but everything is just an expense which can't pay for itself.

I could argue a lot of things, but I'm interested in the second point. Why the Pioneer store is a waste of money and the store of ships or modules to them is considered useful?

I don't understand the question. Storing ships and modules is useful because they can follow you around wherever you go. The Pioneer store is useless because your guns and suits follow you around regardless of having a fleet carrier.

Not storage, but sale. (Shipyard and Outfiting)

Pioneer Supplies currently is a convenience store for consumables and possible for G1 to G5 upgrades if you don't have them all already.

But really, if you need those, you are either taking missions or combat zones at stations where those things already exist.

Or I might use my own ship to directly fly to a ground combat zone, in which case I don't visit any station. But in most cases you are correct of course.

The ground conflict zones are useless because they don't give you anything but money and you can't improve your suit or weapon.

Shipyard and outfitting can be used by other CMDR. For the FC owner the shipyard and outfitting modules are just as useless as the Pioneer store

Yeah I agree, the difference is they have no impact on the interior of the FC. I guess I should have put the word 'interior' in the title of this thread. I keep my bar there, just so there is something other than the seating area at the front. Once you've gotten over the novelty of the interior of your FC, there really isn't anything worth getting out the ship for. I think there is lots of potential there but currently it's all a bit meh.

The shipyard appears in the interior if fitted.
Not sure it offers more functions for the owner yet.
It does not. It does however add a tiny bit of immersion when I disembark from my ship onto my command deck and can then swap to the ship I want to depart in right there instead of having to first board the ship I was in and then switch. That alone was worth the additional upkeep for me.
