I get 60FPS whenever the game's not trying to do anything at all related to Odyssey...I get 60 fps too on my pretty good rig, 2560x1080, almost everything on ultra (shadows on high).
The are some moments though, when starts to stutter heavy - e.g. when I get really close to a settlement in a ship and I cross some distance threshold when game loads and starts rendering all surface details and objects at once.
I crashed my ship hard a few times because of that, luckily I decided to play OD in OVERSHIELDED ships only for now.
The release date was certainly ambitious.Yeh, not gonna lie... I suggested they'd optimise the build and I waited until live released to try it out and it's... failed. Miserably. Sub 30FPS (sometimes even red FPS) in CZs and I've got a machine capable of running CP2077 on ultra settings and ray tracing on ultra and that never dips below 80-100FPS...
It's just not good enough and I personally don't see much difference between this build and the one we tested, not in terms of performance.
I'm enjoying parts of the game (there's lots to do, what works is fun; what doesn't work is a growing list that is lengthening by the hour) but I think this expansion was just a little too ambitious.
I had no problems with ED performance in alpha in CZs, with the exception of those few seconds when game loads all settlement objects.I get 60FPS whenever the game's not trying to do anything at all related to Odyssey...
Concourse goes below 60FPS constantly, around 45 to 50.
And have you tried a CZ yet? Do that, turn on ctrl+F and get back
It's basically the same as Alpha. The recommended specs are entirely false currently.
60FPS?I had no problems with ED performance in alpha in CZs, with the exception of those few seconds when game loads all settlement objects.
After this initial "hiccup" I get playable performance again.
Start from reducing shadow quality. So the low-end-faction says that the game is 50fps and smooth while on high-end the performance is teh garbage?
Then I have hope that its just a bug (or ten - but at least possible to fix)?
I didn't write "playable" instead of repeating "60 fps" accidentally60FPS?
I find this hard to believe.
The explanation is that Red Dead is a simple game with cartoon graphics and physics, while Odyssey is the next-gen of photorealistic graphics and physics. Duh.... while Read Dead runs in 4k/60fps ?
Any explanation?
The bottom line is this: Your PC exceeds recommended specs by some massive margin. If you're not getting capped 60FPS constantly, the specs are wrong and that's the end of it.I didn't write "playable" instead of repeating "60 fps" accidentally
I honestly don't remember and did not test CZ today yet.
Will do in a few hours and report results.
