200cr death warrants...

Hi there,

Just curious, could we please not be signed for death for a measly 200cr warrant? As a bounty hunter I often have either an NPC fly through my shot or I hit a clearly hostile (red icon) target before the scanner says as much. I am totally OK with the fine, but having to travel back to the station every 10mins because the feds instantly want me dead is getting tedious...

I agree. Death warrants should be given out beyond 1000cr fines. That allows for some error. Perhaps just allow the higher death warrant to apply to the pilots allied with the system. I bounty hunt within a few different Federation systems, and I am allied with all of them. Stray shot and all of my allies want me dead, even though I didn't even drop the shields on the ship? Seriously? That's not even allies.

I'd love that.

When using either multicannon-type weapons, or turrets it's only matter of time before you accidentally hit someone when bounty hunting.

Learn some self-control, its easy to avoid shooting friendlies, yes, I know that seems an unpopular reply around here, but it is never the less true. I have picked up 4 fines for shooting friendlies on my way to deadly, and they were all entirely my own fault.

Fines are not the problem. Death sentences are.

I think the bounty is just there as a token: The real thing is that the one you shot has the right to retaliate.

Bounty system should probably distinguish between assault and accidental hits. Accidental hits happen, espicially when using projectile weaponry with large rate of fire (multicannon for example). Nice way of determining this would be by damage caused. Minor damage, such as few bullets, pulse laser shot, etc. should be punished by fine. Maybe even bigger one than 200Cr which is literally nothing. 2-5k would be more apropriate, considering you could have caused damage to hull which costs money to repair. Anything larger ("Accidental" torpedo hit, etc.) or repeated offences => bounty as it is now. Eliminates the kill-on-sight issue, while keeping protection of players.

Same with bounties, why not make system defence force ships only react to noticeable bounties above few thousand? Doesn't really make sense to execute someone for 200Cr (which isn't even enough to fill my fuel tank in Vulture...). They should also properly prioritise targets depending on bounty.

What if there was a way we could pay the person we "offended" and that would cause them to report the issue settled? I've had far less incidents since they changed things a few updates ago, but when you accidentally (recklessly???) shoot someone, so frustrating! How about I submit to arrest instead of getting blasted... I'd be wiling to pay double out in space to take care of these piddly bounties rather than fly in to the station and worry..
