200cr death warrants...

Can anything below 500cr not just be a fine? Ie, if you have 500cr in fines in the local system then the next infraction would make it a bounty? That would make it a lot more tolerable if you accidently shot a pirate before scanning

Maybe when you hit a non-hostile target they should allowed to retaliate and you are marked with a color coded map icon indicating this if the target is another cmdd, but you only become wanted once they return fire? Maybe Allied npcs should only retalliate once you drop their shields. Also there should be on a thirty-second timer or something.

Pasted over from here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=126891&page=2

I think the system of confirming a wanted status is basically a good idea, though I think the scanning could be a little faster, especially when trying to indentify a ship in close range. Perhaps scaling the scan time depending on distance to target could help here.

I think the scanning time should be connected to the fitted sensor array where it takes longer for cheap sensors and with expensive ones (class A) it's done almost instantly. This would also be one more incentive to consider buying those better sensors besides the advantage of increased range.

That said, becoming wanted after shooting a wanted target did happen to me as well a couple of times. Last time it happened I was shooting a wanted anaconda, no system security or other ships in my line of fire and then all of a sudden everyone started shooting at me, clearly because I became wanted myself. Perhaps some lag caused this so that the displayed npcs weren't actually on the position I thought they were when I fired.

To solve this I would suggest the following changes:

- Shooting an unidentified target results in a temporary fine which will not be pursued by security forces. After completing the ID you will either know whether your target is wanted and you can go on to kill it in which case the fine will be deleted and you'll be awarded with the bounty.

or

- the target is clean, where you have two choices: 1. proceed with killing the target and you'll get a bounty on your head which the security forces will pursue. 2. Stop shooting, the temporary fine will become permanent but you won't have wanted status. However, as soon as your fines rack up to let's say 2000cr (in the same faction) they will be converted to a bounty and you'll be considered an outlaw by local security.

Give us the possibility to agree or not to pay a fine when its just below 1000cr, because when you bounty hunts with the federals for 40 minutes, while they are allied. And suddenly one of them pass in front of your line of fire. It's very annoying to have all of them turning hostile for a bounty of 600cr.

Especially when you have to return to the base super far away each time. This is just quit annoying and want me to stop playing

Fines are not the problem. Death sentences are.
Yep, that.

+1 right here.

FD, do something about it already!
How many threads and peed off players does it need until you start to act?
A few days ago, your lead designer was "oh so surprised" to learn that this issue seems to be of most concern.

Do.
Something.
Please.
