General / Off-Topic 2016 Strikes again, Vera Rubin passed away.

Amidst the well known Carrie fishers passing (and now her mother too), it seems another important scientist passed away two days before Carrie, she is probably significantly less known outside her field, but within the field of astronomy she was an important part, she is the one that confirmed dark matter/found the evidence of it.

Considering her contributions to science, I think she too should have a tribute within Elite, considering her significant milestone in science.

There are two days of it left as well.

Yeah, its been rough on celebrities, but we shouldn't forget those that have contributed important things to science either. They might not be celebrities (outside their fields) but they are significantly important.

Definitely. Instead of "celebrities" we should just call them "influential people".
Repped.

A very sad loss to all of us.
It's as if this year, great minds and talents throughout the spectrum of human en devours, said 'We tried to show you. We tried to inspire you. We tried to teach you. And you still don't understand. We're leaving...your on your own."

"We have peered into a new world and have seen that it is more mysterious and more complex than we had imagined. Still more mysteries of the universe remain hidden. Their discovery awaits the adventurous scientists of the future. I like it this way." -Vera Rubin
