22,000 cr bounty in < super power leader name > ?

Guys,

Since 3.0 dropped I usually know how I get bounties when I get them and they're easy enough to deal with

BUT

every once in a while I get a bounty for exactly 22,000 cr which always reads something like:

* 22,000 CR BOUNTY IN ZEMINA TORVAL
* 22,000 CR BOUNTY IN EDMOND MAHAN
* etc ...

I know that the names in the bounties are the names of the heads of the super powers. I just don't know how I'm getting the bounties because even when I'm never shoothing any non-wanted ships.

I am currently pledged to a super power for the purpose of getting that power's special weapon but I don't think I've been grinding merits at any time when these bounties occurred.

Has anyone else gotten these and know why they occur?

Side issue: It bugs me that you in have a bounty in a person. I'm guessing those messages should probably have the word SPACE added to the end.

They are power play bounties

Have you been killing Wanted Ships that belong to those powers

If a Power Play Ships is in the wrong space it is wanted

So Alliance Enforcers in Hudson controlled Space will be Wanted


So those are not Criminal Bounties, you did not commit a crime, but you did kill a member of an opposing Power so they have put a price on your head but it will only show for other people pledged, so system security and unpledged players will see you as clean

Hmmm, I bet you're right. Now, I'm wondering if there's an easy way to distinguish the two types of wanted when I'm not grinding merits in an appropriate system. If so, I'll try to avoid those kills.

This type of bounty should be called a "war crime" or something other than just bounty.

I agree it needs a different name to differentiate it, though it is a Bounty that has been placed on your head.

Maybe [Power] has put a [xxx]CR Price on your head

Prize might do as it goes the the whole Power Play being bascially Privateers with a letter of Marque so can claim a Prize for killing opposing Powers Agents
