If you get iced you should have 24 hours to cover your rebuy if you couldn't pay for it straight up. I've lost a Clipper to being 26k short following an alcohol induced insurance miscalculation - a sum I could easily raise in the loaner Sidewinder and come back shortly after to get my ship back. I'm a bit surprised this isn't already in the game.
