25000ly: The run away CMDR!

Hey Thread,

Wanted to share my story [smile]

I've been on ED for about 3 months now and loving it. I've tried a variety of ships and role of things while grinding up my rank and cash.
Got my lovely Asp Exp and Vulture kitted out.

All went well in the bubble as i ground away at engineering getting ready to explore more then a 1000 ly
My breaking point i started mining to get my 500tons when i need a break... The break may be a bit longer then i intended...

I happen upon a data mission 25000 ly away 47mil, my little Asp has 36 ly jump range no SRV or auto repair but still i find myself signing up and heading out into the black!

I've now done 8000 ly and i'm loving it, I've found and a couple of earth like planets which is fun and starting to see some progress along the galaxy map. Planned a trip back via Colonia which was on my list of cool things to do.

Also learnt that an auto repair and SRV would be handy and definitively being added when i find an outfitter.

So even though I've probably bitten of more then i can chew it a fun little journey i'm on!

Any tips from veterans very appreciated!

You should be able to avoid any need for an AFMU if you're reasonably careful and don't do a lot of Neutron-boosting. SRV is both handy and fun, but not essential.

Other tips:
If you're seeing a lot of tags go off at a tangent for a bit and then start going forward again and you could well see more virgin systems.
Get EDDiscovery for your own personal logs and assorted QoL stuff, also to contribute to shared resources like EDSM and EDDB (other tools exist that do this but this is the one I'm on the dev team for so it's the one I'm going to plug ;))
If you find any particularly nice views take a picture and let us all see

If you're still loving it after 8 kylies then there's a high chance you've caught the bug good and proper. Welcome to your new life as an Explorer :)
