2560x1440 vs 2560x1600

Good morning

I'm currently in the market for a new gaming laptop. It shall have a RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 7 5800H together with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD space. Now there are different options for the screen resolution. I guess the outlined hardware setup is capable of more than 1920x1080. So that leaves either 2560x1440 or 2560x1600. Are there any proportional distortions to expect from 16:10 compared to 16:9? Any first hand experiences? Thank you!

I run both setups on different PCs. No, there's no discernible difference with ED at least for me. I've ran it on both configs. My main Flightsim rig is using 16:10 still, 2560x1600.
It is always nicer with a bit of wide 16:10 for gaming, while 16:9 is more practical for me when doing work.

No, considering that elite has pretty bad fisheye at the edges at any higher resolution?

The perceivable difference between those two resolutions is 1440p has the ship ui closer to the corners where 1600 will have a gap of more stuff between the edge of the screen.

I used 1440 on my 1600 monitor with NVIDIA drivers creating bars back when experimenting with fov vs elites non perceivable scale but these days just run at full 2560x1600, more space is nice.
