2800LY above galaxy core.

Yay. There should be a 2800ly above the core club, you just joined it. Well done. If you are directly above Sag A*, and you're still there, there is an ELW there, want to know which system? Its the very end of my Deep Space Survey 5 (see sig)

Awesome job CMDR! Indeed is a beautiful place!!
Like many here, I also did 2,800ky up and down! Lol. None of the systems were claimed when I passed by but hey, that was over a month ago!

Will rep when back to home PC!! Have fun with the breathtaking views!

I did "up" & "down" a couple of weeks ago. Got to 2854 & -2905 on the Y axis which translates to 2,875 LY above Sag A* and 2,884 below it.

TBH being 2800LY above a whitey big jelly like disc doesn't seem to me to be that most beautiful place in the galaxy and it doesn't seem such a difficult goal you need particular skills to achieve as you just had to travel perpendicularly to galaxy ecliptic plane for the needed time but, since all other forumers are so enthusiasticly congratulating, there must be something I'm missing.

Try it and see.

Ok, I'll bite and take me & StarGazer to the top...:)

Nice job, OP.

Edit:Hmm, going up wasn't such a bad idea, thnx Yaffle :)
I really like the symmetry in this system.

I wasn't going to post this video because I didn't think it turned out too well but ... after I did my Sag A* Buckyball run I decided to fly "down" as far as I could to see if I could find an Earth like world (after seeing an amazing screenshot from someone who'd done something similar but "up"). Anyway, only managed to find a Waterworld and made the following video by doing stop motion on a whole bunch of separate screenshots. Like I say, I don't think it turned out too well but I thought you guys might like it.

It just seems to hang there, what's holding it?
(must be that yellow string on the right...:))
