2D or Topological map as lost!

I look at the Galactic map and blank! I am new and going through the ....huge learning curve

Are there any 2d maps in the game, I mean the London tube map if done in 3d and by actual route would be horrible, same here I look, have no idea where I am, how to get anywhere. I am sure if I study for a week maybe...maybe I can figure it out, just seems this game is very Anti-new player, really hope this changes, I mean I am an old Elite player but this is really hard to get into.

sorry just whining I know everyone else gets it, I must just be very slow!!!!

Well it takes some time getting used to, but I think a 2d map would be even more confusing. Just use the coordinates and the landmark stars.

Its not too bad once you get used to it on a local scale, long distance is more difficult due to the shear number of systems. What I really would like is for the destination system to not keep clearing after each jump and for the target jump system to automatically populate with the next system in the jump chain. I dare say there could be many ways to improve it and I strongly encourage anyone with ideas to share them

The calculations for successful hyperspace are critical taking up all available memory and buffer space to lesson errors and all data is wiped once punched.

Maybe a nav computer upgrade will give greater abilities.

I would very, very very much like to see nav computer upgrades. I think it would be a great addition to the game.
