2nd Annual Voyager Challenge!

1 week to go!

I'm nipping back to Beagle Point quick. Alfons, my Imperial Slave, lost his wallet there while cleaning my ship's windscreen.

It's only 20,000 ly. I'll get there tonight, then go back to the start of this event.

There were 4 racers in the end.

1 dropped out 1/4 way in.

A second had a DBX, but the fuel scoop let him down, and was taking too long.

In the end, it was CMDRs Dragonsbreath and Elenar that slugged it out. It was a brutal race, with the aforementioned commanders being within 50-100 ly from each other the entire way.

Eventually, Elenar won, beating last year's time of 38 hours, 44 minutes with his time of 23 hours, 20 minutes. CMDR Dragonsbreath finished a mere 15 minutes later.

CMDR Elenar (me), wins as paint pack, gaming keyboard and mouse, and the finishing competitor gets a Voyager Challenge mug.

CMDR Elenar also increased his total hyperspace distance traveled from 420,000 ly to 653,797 ly, and a Max distance from start is now 65,277 ly.

See you all next year...

I might actually be able to compete next year (about to move house so spent the last few days packing).

23 hours, 20 minutes. Why the massive saving compared to last year? I can't think there's been any equipment enhancement that would have helped. I mean an ASP explorer with giant fuel scoop and small shield is the same as last year... isn't it?

23 hours, 20 minutes? :O

That's almost 2600LY/hour!!!

That is astounding. In regions with plenty of stars allowing more straight line jumping, and with the right ship, yeah, i could perhaps make close to that.... but to do it straight for 23+ hours.... i think i'd end up in the loony bin!

I'd offer congratulations perhaps... but probably better to offer one of these:
