Following in the footsteps of previous great explorers, but not walking down their beaten paths, I have embarked on a new journey of exploration. Today the 2nd Great American Exploration Expedition commenced from Shinrarta and is taking the first tentative step into the great beyond. I have stopped in the Musca sector to test my equipment and ensure that this ex.ex. remains space-worthy. My initial 30 day goal is to continue into the deep sky visible from the Southern Hemisphere of old Earth at least 10,000 light years and there select an entire Sector for complete and thorough exploration and mapping. I expect this monumental task to take longer than 30 days, but I cannot assess the scope until I have begun.
On a related note, I a soliciting advice on the best way to list stars within a sector. If I have to eyeball it on the galaxy map I expect to miss a few, maybe a great deal more than a few.
