3.0 Crime & Punishment is abysmal. Get Bobby Ewing back in the shower

.... Really FDEV?

THIS.... is to simplify C&P? Are you taking drugs? No! Well perhaps you should start.

Most of the time I've no idea where or when I've been slapped with a bounty, and then I need a slide rule with my socks off just to work out where the hell I need to go to get it paid off. Is the bounty a local one, or perhaps its powerplay, or Interstellar or just a bug?, hell it could be the programmers friend 'RNG' for all I know. Talking of bugs, try fixing the one where the interstellar factions don't show if you've gone into System Map to check on a station, then back out to Galaxy Map..... that's annoying..... and also try being consistent with the 'Interstellar Factions' name, they are STILL called 'Broker Networks' in the info block on the System Map.

Do any of you ACTUALLY play Elite?

Hey, here's an idea, just turn off the new C&P like you did with skimmer missions. Get Bobby Ewing back in the shower

I think the new C&P, even though it was advertised as a way to deal with griefers, it has become the griefer in and of itself. I am not a griefer, I have never griefed anyone and rarely play in the open anyway because I don't wanna be hassled by any griefers. Not that I can't handle myself or my ships aren't strong enough, but I design my ships to go after NPCs and only NPCs, I do not design them to go against players. As a result of the new system, I have been griefed because now I can't do all the things I used to be able to do. C&P has been employed to grief the player base that are not griefers. I do not know if the new system has even worked to circumvent the real griefers, but it sure has worked against me.

So I errantly splashed a clean ships shields in a Haz Res, no damage done to said ship, I stop firing as soon as I see the warning, but another NPC then kills that ship that you grazed, and guess what, you are in the Griefer Zone, cause you get the murder rap, and all the security ships start firing on you. Wait a minute, I though Haz Rez was supposed to be security free zones, how is it that there is security there? In power play systems, the power play ships are the security in the Haz Res, and there appears to be more of them in a Haz Res then regular security in a High Res.

Ok, then you might think, well, I am aligned with a Hostile power, so I start firing on the power play ships that are firing on me, and I clean house cause I'm in a chieftan and they are in eagles, but with each kill, those power play ships increase my bounty and notoriety. Before its all said and done, I have a Notoriety of 6 and a bounty of 133 grand, all because of one errant shot. I shouldn't be getting a bounty for defending myself against ships that fire on me. Next thing you know all the rocks start turning into more power play ships so I just leave. So Haz Res is no longer Hazardous, rather, it is hazardous for you and only you because there is now security in a supposed 'Security free zone'.

The power play ships are not security ships. They are bounty hunters and you have a bounty on you. Defending yourself from legitimate law enforcement (bounty hunting) is a crime.

You say you are "aligned with a hostile power". Are you pledged to that power? If not, power play rules do not apply. If you are pledged, the bounty should be a power play bounty, and I think notoriety should not have increased because of the power play rules.

What do you mean, "I've no idea where or when I've been slapped with a bounty?" I'm compelled to ask, do you pay attention to what you are doing? Do you play Elite?

Is it possible to create a "bot" to monitor each system and log the circumstances of each PvP encounter?
I have been thinking hard about the amount of "ganking" STILL going on in the "bubble" and was wondering if this nut needs something "heavier" to crack it? IF it were possible to acknowledge the perp who fires on an unarmed ship (weapons NOT engaged, or not even fitted) then one COULD ban them from "Open Play", surely? One could start with a 6 week ban, followed by a 6 MONTH ban, ending in a "perma-ban"?

I detest bullies, and regardless of the excuses, "ganking" IS bullying! Why else would the word "ganking" have been created, if it were not to HIDE the true term? There SHOULD be no place to hide, for ANYONE caught being a bully, or "enabling" a bully, be that by being apologetic for them or denying their existance! This "ganking" has forced too many people out of ED altogether! It is time to set an example to those playing ED, and by doing so, show, it IS possible to stand up to, AND isolate bullying behaviour in all games!

If you want evidence of the rates of "ganking" in the "bubble", look at how many people are moving to Colonia! It just doesn't happen there! We are not interested in poking 'goids or each other. We are a co-operative bunch of people, trying to create a seperate culture of inclusion. We are also beieng challenged by devs to become "more like the bubble" with Thargoid defenses, and weapons, and exclusion from access to our own engineers and founder's world!

We, in Colonia (and I HAVE talked to a fair few emigraes!) are tired of being forced into conflicts we want no part of! That is WHY Colonia was created! It is why we moved SO FAR AWAY! Either give us the tools to become a "new bubble", or put in place the protection needed when we come back to yours for supplies!

you can find a broker network through the galaxy map by simply going to services I think. I mean they are pretty easy to find so there you go problem solved.

Yes, I was pledge to a hostile power, but, the power play ships did not start attacking me when I arrived in the Haz Res site, in fact, I was there for quite a while engaging wanted ships around them and they didn't bother or attack me until I rec'd the 'Reckless' damage fine, then all of them attacked, just like security ships do at a High Res, so they are the same as the security, just with a different name.

I've been hit with a bounty after completing a surface scan mission. So then I find a broker network, fly to it but they won't clear it because I have a high notoriety. Tried this in all the power systems but to no avail. Now I can't fly my Python without running the risk of being interdicted because I'm too well known??! I mean.....?

If your only bounty is in one or two systems you should be able to fly in other systems without being wanted.

You might have problems in a res site or nav beacon if bounty hunters KWS you, but I can't remember the latest on how the KWS works.
