3.0 T9 vs Anaconda

Since 3.0 I flew a t9 for a few days. With a rated thrusters with dirty drag drives handling in normal space isn't too bad. I personally find it nicer than the cutter.

Jump range fully loaded is currently 18ly. I've not maxed fsd but it's not far off and I could add some lightweight engineering but it's never going to be impressive but it's enough for short range trading/missions.

My only real issue that made me go back to the cutter is supercruise handling. It's the only ship I find challenging to avoid interdiction to an extent it gets too annoying. Ragequit the t9 after a string of back to back interdictions with the bar going back and forth in each one for what seemed an eternity before finally winning.

I got one of those new high capacity T9s and used it to replace my mining Anaconda. It is a mighty mining ship, but I think the Anaconda is still better.

With the Anaconda I could go to a High RES and just swat those "That's a fine haul" NPCs while I was mining. With the T9 I have to find a quiet bit of the RES to mine in peace. There is also the problem of the "That's a fine haul" NPCs interdicting you as you are supercruising back to the station.

I'm not going to sell it yet. I might try some of those cargo-hauling wing missions that folks on this thread suggested.

I suspect it's a decision based on personal preference. My T9 carries a fighter and respectable shields, it now hauls over 600 tons of cargo and jumps 20 something but has a fuel scoop too. It got me into the top 10% of a CG recently and can easily handle NPC Pirates. It's a pig in SC but actually pretty entertaining when in combat.

As an armoured trader I'm not really looking to get into fights though just to be certain I can get out of them. The T9 does this for me.

Had enought for an Anaconda but opted out to buy an T9 first. For me it was about numbers. Larger cargo capacity equals more profit. I get it that the Anaconda is great but it is not the end all be all for everything.

I wonder how the story ended. Did he get the Anaconda and realize he spent more time trying to get it to turn in Supercruise than actual trading? Was the new T9 the roxorz for his soxorz?? We need to know!!!

Disclaimer - I'm not a trader.

That being said, the T9 has a fantastic cockpit/canopy. Easily the best of the large ships, besides the T10 obviously. That is a big deal for me, personally, and one worth considering. It's largely why I fly a T10 for my large combat ship.
