I have 3 simple additions that will make traveling and navigation so much easier. I have created 3 pictures for each suggestion to illustrate the potential implementation.
1: The Navigation UI (left)
When traveling a planned route (especially when exploring) you often lock onto different point of interests (e.g. ships, planets or stars) in system. When time comes to resume the planned route, navigating to the 'Navigation' UI and scrolling down the list, looking for your next system to jump to, can be tedious to do every single time - expecially in a system with 30+ bodies. A simple addition can tell you your next destination, and give you the opportunity to lock onto this next system on your route, as per below.
2: The System View
When exploring, or travelling to a specific station, locking on to a specific planetary body or orbital from the system view would be an immense help.
Currently, explorers will have to either select bodies from the navigation scroll menu and hope they are on par with the order of orbits seen in system view (which isn't always the case), or they wil have to fly out of the orbital plane and visually confirm which planet to target (e.g. when the 4. planet appears to be a water world, and you only want to scan this one).
Below picture shows what I mean. A very simple button to lock on to the targeted body in system view - a massive simplification to exploration and scanning!
3: Galaxy Map route calculator
We have all been there. Waiting for all possible routes to be calculated until you get as far as you need. I know this is early in development, but here's the suggestions anyway. Why not give players the control to choose whether or not to load all possible routes, or load a single route from current, to selected location? Below picture shows the addition of 2 buttons in galaxy view. It should be relatively simple to implement, yes?
An additional suggestion to galaxy map, is the addition of tags, or notes to add to systems. Allowing players to keep track of points of interest, future locations to explore, good places for rare commodities etc.
Hope some devs see this
