I think that we could definitely get 4 packs this year, if we get one in the next couple weeks, maybe another one around june or july, maybe another one around late september and something for christmas, so i will go with 4 packs per year:
March 2021:
Tropical Asia Pack. I think this pack will make sense, because Asia is too big and diverse to have just one pack covering everything, but who knows, maybe they'll do something like the Southamerican one. I will cover the most tropical regions in this pack:
- Sun bear (of course)
- Any species of gibbon (I don't think there any chance we don't get a primate, I'd love a gibbon, but would be ok with smth like lion tailed macaque or a langur)
- Gaur (the biggest bovid in the world, it should be in game. It could also be some species of deer, maybe the Chital or Sambar)
- Leopard (Javan, Indian or Sri Lanka, I'll be ok with any of this subspecies. It could also be the clouded leopard or maybe another hervivorous)
- King cobra [Exhibit] (We already have props in game for the cobra so it would make sense)
June/July 2021:
African Pack. They would probably name it African pack but it woudl be an African savanaah pack imo:
- White or black rhino (personally I prefer the white rhino because is the one I've seen the most irl, but the black rhino would be equally awesome)
- Meerkat (of course, there's no way the do an african pack without the meerkat, i hope)
- Secretary bird (or another mostly-grounded bird, like flamingos. It could be some crane or stork.)
- Eland antelope (we have many antelopes in game, but they are still a lot left. It could also be the impala, the waterbuck, etc)
- Black mamba [Exhibit] (one of the most iconic snakes species imo, i'd love to have them in game)
Around september 2021:
European Pack. As Europe is the only continent without truly repressentation (though the polar bear and reindeer also live in Europe but they are usually thought as north-american species) they should get a pack before we finish the year:
- Red deer (we have props for deer in game, and they are not resembling moose, so the red deer would match this props perfectly)
- Eurasian lynx (we'll finally get an small/medium sized cat, and the lynx is the perfect species for this, as is distributed through Europe and Asia as well. It could also be the Iberian lynx, highly endangered)
- Alpine ibex (the only wild-goat-like animal we have is the Dall's sheep, so we need moore. Other options could be the Iberian ibex, the chamois or the mouflon)
- Wolverine (I would love this option personally, it would and small predator, which the game is lacking and really unique animal. Other optiones would be the red fox, the marten or even the wild boar or the wisent)
- Fire salamander [Exhibit] (I think there aren't any salamander in game so it would be great as they are widely distributed in Europe)
Christmas 2021:
Aviary pack. Definitely this will be the big Christmas surprise, and probably this will be the pack where they break the rule of 5 animals (I hope). Of course they will add free flying mechanics and some new aviaries, probably as exhibits (for small birds) and as habitats as well, but who knows. I'll expect 10 animals in this pack maybe:
- Bald eagle
- Andean condor (or the Californian condor)
- Griffon vulture
- European owl (definitely an owl as they appear in the animal's talk post. It is an owl reading a book)
- Toco tucan
- Scarlet macaw
- Blue-and-yellow macaw (I think that two species of macaw would be great)
- White-cheeked turaco
- Sacred ibis
- Malayan flying fox (I think it would be a nice addition, but if they prefer to focus only on bird, I will add some falcon species or maybe another eagle or some hummingbird will be cool as well)
March 2022:
North American Pack. In order to finish covering every continent (besides Antarctica) we'll finally geta North American pack. Maybe this one could be switched with the European one:
- Moose (definetely, it is the biggest species of deer and it must be in game)
- American black bear (though I think we'll have a decent amount of bear species in game, I don't think they could release this pack without this bear species. Also, they could include the coyote or maybe another species of deer, as the elk)
- California sea lion (that one will be really interesting, as we will get another diving animal, and probably the one we all missed in the acuatic pack)
- Black-tailed prairie dog (probably with the same animations as the meerkat, I think it could a really interesting animal to have in game. It could also be raccon, skunk, peccaries or foxes)
- Axolotl [Exhibit] (a truly unique animal, i'd love to add them to a reptile/anfibian house or even in some interior view points of something)
June/July 2022:
Mountain Pack. This will be the moment when the decission to save the animals from colder region of Asia will make sense, as some of them will be included here, covering mountain regions from North and South America, Asia and Africa (I'll left out Europe because I already included an European mountain animal earlier):
- Cougar (This one for sure, as it will cover North American and South American mountains, as one of the most widespread cats in the world.)
- Markhor (One of the most impresive horns I've ever seen, they should be in the game. Other optiones would be the Himalayan thar)
- Mishmi takin (or any of the subspecies. I think the takin is one the most weird and cool looking animals in the world and I'd love to see them in game as they are one of my favourites animals)
- Gelada baboon (I'd personally love this, gelada are awesome primates, and they will fit perfectly in this theme representing the mountain regions of Africa.)
- Corades chelonis [Exhibit] (There's no butterflies still in game, and though maybe it is not very well known, personally I find this butterfly beautiful, and I think it'd be really cool to have them in game)
Around September 2022:
Endangered Species Pack. I think that there's no way they finish this game without a pack about endangered species or conservation or something in that line. Also this could give them some freedom to not have to choose animals base on where they live or biome:
- Black rhino (By this time the white rhino will have been in the game for over a year following my prediction, but I definitely think they could go with both species. If they decide to choose the black rhino for the african pack, this spot will be for the white rhino.
- Przewalski wild horse (Of course they have to be in here as one of the greatest success in conservation. Another option, for both the wild horse and the rhino spot could be the scimitar oryx or the Pere David's deer)
- Amur leopard (One of the most endangered species of cat in the world, and even we may have another subspecies, I think it'd be really cool to highlight this concrete subspecies)
- Kagu (A really beautiful bird and a really endangered one, they could be added into the aviary's species. Another option will be the Spix's macaw or the Californian condor or the Kakapo)
- Fiji crested iguana [Exhibit] (A really beautiful looking iguana, i'd love them and I'd love to be able to use them in game)
Christmas 2022, Final Pack:
Appreciation Pack. This would be the last dlc of planet zoo and should be something special and made thinking in the community. I think of two ways they could go with this pack: either realising animals they have worked on but not released or do some kind of offical voting were we decide which final animals we want. It could definitely be a bigger pack, but I'm going to narrow it to the "standard" 5 animals (4+1) and include the 5 animals I'd love to see:
- Wisent or European Bison
- Babirusa
- Fossa
- Nilgai
- Naked mole rat [Exhibit]
Of course there are a lot of animals left as capybara, clouded leopard, tasmanian devil, and long list, so that's why this final pack could be bigger
