303 Squadron: Battle of Britain

The Kickstarter goal is shown as £7,115 (about $9600 at current rates). If that is a significant proportion of their expected total expenditure, it can only be an arcade game, and a simplistic one at that.

very little or hardly no information on the KS page, however that 3rd view kind of put me off.

It really doesn't say how much a simulation it will be or how much a story bases game it will be.
lastly TIR, VR, HOTAS is not even mentioned???

yeah that is also my guess.

303 Squadron is made by PlayWay Group, Polish publisher known for arcade like titles like Car Mechanic simulator serie and their newest Ultimate Fishing (and few more pseudo sim like games).

Do not expect anything like Il-2 BoS or absolutely nothing close to DCS. Now this is not bashing the guys, some of their games are actually good fun but they wont make a real flight simulator.

Agreed.
IIRC, the DCS team actual own some of the warbirds that are in game, and sell elements of their game to various militaries (e.g. A10C to the US national guard). Highly unlikely that (even a very well meaning) chap armed with $7,000 is going to be able to create a genuine competitor to DCS or IL2.

I got some info:

1) Can you elaborate on the sim part. How much realism is your goal, e.g. compared to Il-2?
2) Will you support Hotas and TrackIR?
3) What is the gameplay around the mechanic role?

@Nameless Knightshark
1) We have two steering modes: a simplified arcade one where the plane "follows the cursor" and realistic one, where you use controller (and mouse emulates the yoke). We generated realistic physics model with its effects on the pilot (from G-tolerance to slight nuances), damage model with critical spots and direct hit counters and weather. Another aspect of realism is a reproduction of RAF Northolt station and pilots based on real people.
2) Hotas is our device of choice for controller gameplay and the game will be well suited for it. TrackIR support is not included now, but adding it shouldn't be a problem.
3) It is a simulation of aircraft maintenance, tweaking and adjusting. You "dig" inside the plane's entrails to reach the specific element you want to replace to get different parameters in flight. For example, you mod the supercharger to tweak boost/heat ratio or adjust the machine gun harmonisation to get the convergence pattern you desire.

It sounds interresting, however the amount they need is rather low, and we don't know why the bar is set this low to fund the project.

A) it's already funded, and they just need to know if there is an interest
B) They are making a simplistic game
C) They hijacked 20 coder monkeys from CIG that works for free..

I think it's A) and

D) They use the campaign for PR.
E) They want more funding for the stretch goals.
