Hardware & Technical 32" 4K monitor recommendations anyone?

I am looking to upgrade from 27" 1440 monitor to a 32" 2160 one, would love to hear any recommendations on a decent one.

I had considered the 38" super-wide from LG but it isn't 2160, so I am really sticking to 16:9 aspect ratio and hence my preference for 32" display.

I will not be requiring pro-type colour calibration etc, mainly looking for gaming, flight sims and entertainment.

Ideally I'd like it to be well under £1K (UK based) so anyone got experience of one that they would recommend?


(BTW I will not ever be considering VR so I just thought I'd say that to stop people plugging it, thanks.)

Yeah they are available in the UK. I'd love to hear how you get on with that monster. I think it is too big for my purposes, even the 40" version seems untenable for me. However the prices are good, would love to know how they perform.

I went from a 28" 4k 3440x2160 to a 34" curved ultrawide 3440x1440...best single hardware change I have ever made...I can not say strongly enough just how much I love this display in my home made, fully enclosed cockpit.

I have been seriously considering the LG 38" 21:9 ultrawide, it has had some glowing reviews (excuse the pun) but I am hanging off in case there is a release of some upgraded 16:9 32" 4K good models, the ones curently out there have some drawbacks that are putting me off.

Funnily enough It came today, have to say more than happy with it as we were using a old 24" widescreen for all our viewing, its a great picture not used it on elite yet and unfortunately that's going to have to wait as the one we got seems to have developed a nasty fault, about 2/3rds of the way across the screen its got a whole line of dead pixels from top to bottom, which appears after the screen has been on for a few hours, hopefully once it sorted I'll boot up ED on it. :)

There are many fine choices for you. The one the that you should consider is matching you new monitor , especially in 4K, with you graphics card manufacture. If you have Nvidia cards, I.E. 970, 1080 and so on, than buy a monitor that supports Gsync. If you are using Amd products, than your monitor should support Free-sync. Both technologies are not interchangeable but function similarly. They lock the ref refresh rate of the monitor with your frame rate to smooth out tears and jitters.
I have a 4K monitor that supports Freesync but a I have Nvidia cards. The monitor works just fine but I can't turn on the freesync function.

This isn't what you asked, but for gaming I would suggest getting a higher refresh rate monitor over 4k. It offers a lot more tangible benefit, whereas 4k is a fairly minimal improvement for a huge cost to fps. But everyone's priorities are different. I have a 4k 60hz screen and a 1080p 144hz screen and I always pick the latter to game on.

I am also shopping wide-screen, curved 4K monitors and currently, this one appears to be on top if you have the budget for it:

Look online for articles explaining why 4K televisions are not good 4K monitors.

Another 60 Hz refresh-rate "monitor".
