32 tons of Palladium floating around Lands Mine.

Just launched from my pad, lined up the exit slot, hit forward thrust. Thrust key sticks, I'm doing 240 inside the station. As I approach the slot the outline of a large ship looms in the mist and there's no room to manoeuvre.

Bang! Eject! Eject! Ouch!

just lost 400,000 credits.

time to quit for the day, off to the cinema, back to the grind later.

Once i have lost a milion worth of cargo and my type 6 while docking, because of "thrusting out of the dock is FUN!" moron. At least you know that YOU have made a mistake and paid for it. I made no mistake, paid for it.

Just dont thrust in the station. Its stupid.

I've done something similar in my fully kitted Cobra. Rushed to get out, checked to see nothing was coming through the slot, I'm in the exit slot and I see a Lakon 9 just entering, can't avoid it and got bounced back into the station. I then get a trespass warning from the station but can't get out as the Lakon 9 is taking its time entering, and the station blows me to pieces. If I had my wits about me I would have just logged out, but it was late evening. Lol, this is the future, but they don't have traffic lights, it is just the biggest has right of way. A red flashing light warning of an incoming vessel would suffice.

The landing radar appearing on takeoff and preventing you from seeing what's around you needs fixing. If it showed other close proximity ships it wouldn't be so bad but it doesn't.

Essentially at one of the points in the game where you're *most likely* to collide with another craft your ship, in it's infinite wisdom, automatically decides for you "nah you'll not need that radar here, you'll be fine".

*boom*

That'll be 400,000 creds please.

I'm glad I learnt that lesson in a Beta Sidey, although all that Grain felt like a fortune to me at the time :(

Just freelook up.....nothing above you? you are good to go.

For sure. Because of that white envelope covering the slot you can't see if something is just about to enter. I take my time now, 350k insurance is quite a lot for a bounty hunter, especially since all my unclaimed bounties got wiped on destruction as well (750K worth) :)

That's bad news, I feel your pain. I don't normally thrust out of a station, I said in my post that my thrust key got stuck. I had no control over my speed and no time to think about cutting my engines. I think the take away from this for me, is never retract your landing gear till your out of the station and look into buying a new keyboard.

Don't take this the wrong way but your deserve it. The amount of idiots boosting through the slot that I have to avoid becomes a skill of its own. Any players around means I watch my radar very very closely.

I will admit I boost out of certain stations...out of neccessity. Trading in hostile stations is an exhilarating experience...coming and going! Just wanting to let folks know that some players might have a legitimate need.

It's fun to thrust in tight holes

The guy stated his Thrust key - NOT his boost!

You have to thrust!
