General / Off-Topic 3305 sounds to me more familiar than 2019

I'm still not used to 2019: everytime I write it, it still sounds weird and sometimes I make the mistake to write 2018.
Writing 3305 in the Elite world it sounds much more familiar to me! [haha]

As long as you don't write 3305 on rl-stuff, I wouldn't worry ;)

Every time I read 2019, I think I got sucked into a sci-fi movie. Then I look out the window and am disappointed. This isn't quite the future I imagined.

Yep, done it today... tipex please!!! 🤭

On another time related note, the space stations in Elite: Dangerous remind me of the streets in Blade Runner, and that movie was set in a dystopian 2019....

2019 sounds strange indeed. Same here... not the future I imagined 30 years ago (I'm 50).

On another hand, I'm still learning 3305. 3303 and 3304 were, I don't know, more tangible... Although I start playing in late 3301, just before Horizon.

Still remember the  I had when I noticed that Frontier didn't match the leap years between real and game...

And Elite Dangerous, don't forget that. Definetely an improvement over the Elite we had in the 80s ;)

That's the key difference. Computer science came a long way.
But otherwise, an average household looks quite similar to the 60s. Owen, fridge, TV... cars and planes also look quite similar. Hell, we still haven't came off the coal since the industrial revolution.

There's a thought. If you had a time machine, would you dare to go forwards? Don't think i would, scared of what I'd see.
Probably just go backwards to see some Roman battles or something.
