so it still works on a plane at 35,000ft, reckons that beats Mr Braben's phone tethered on a train ;)

Way cool! Wish I could get the game to appear as more than a black screen when I remote desktop with my phone. :(

i love my HP Elitebooks 8760w customs (got a matching pair) - i7 2920XM 2.50GHZ Extreme Edition 8 Cores, 17" 1920x1080 screen, Nvidia Quadro 5010m 4GBs, 32GB Ram, twin SSDs, plus a bulletproof metal case that takes the knocks of working on the road. Even though they're a few years old now, they still play the latest games well and are great for work (After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Powerpoint)

hm considering the latency on those things this is a little surprising, guess namely because there is no main server the game is not very latency sensitive other then when you actually meet other players, still say hybrid would be best, where server confirms things and makes sure same 'seeds' of npc's e.t.c. but other then that leaves it to p2p

That's a great image. Amazing what our tech can do, an artificial galaxy inside a machine flying near the speed of sound above the weather. How the ancients would have marvelled (as they burned us at the stake).
The only way it could have been better is if you'd been in orbit of Earth looking down on the same view as the aircraft monitor.

I was disappointed to find my laptop not quite up to snuff to play :(

Where do you put the joystick...? But seriously, what do you use for controls?
