35 million in under an hour.. Nice balancing, FD !

I took a few weeks off and must have missed a few updates.. So I logged in for a quick hour tonight. What to do ? VR and the Vulture in a HazRES ? Nahhh, I only have an hour and it'll take 15 minutes to fire up VR. Taygeta seems hot lately.. Cutter time ? Noo... haven't had the Cutter out in a while and Imperial code of conduct says I'd have to have it detailed before it can be seen in public. Plus, I don't want to to trading. Python ? No.. I decide to fire up EZ mode, select the Vette, and look for a high level assassination mission or two.. should be good for 8-10 million.

Looking at missions, I see one to kill 7 ships of a faction one hop over for 6 million credits.. Thats easy money ! While scanning the board a bit more, there's another mission to kill 17 ships for another faction for 17 million. SCORE ! It was nice to see blue mission SS's without having to chase things down or park for hours in a RES. I hit the two systems, kill some people, return home and collect my 20 million..30-40 minutes tops. Then I get another 6 million for bounties. NICE ! I have time for another quick mission before I bail.. Whats this ? Take 36 business men one hop over... 5 million ? Literally a 10 minute job, round trip.

In under an hour, 35 million, without mission stacking or other tricks. I also wasn't locked into one type of mission. There was a selection that paid well. I could have taken PAX missions, or LR PAX, or delivery missions. Everything seemed to pay well.

It's nice to see earning parity with other groups while just bombing around the galaxy.

I approve.

I fully endorse this post or comment.

Thargoid interceptors are even easier (quicker) money.

I think they could stand to dial the bounties back a bit BUT this is a nice change. I'm definitely seeing more paths to some money than before and I'm doing more stuff than I used to. I'm kind of digging on Diplomatic Bag recovery missions as they are a little bit different from my usual style of play.

It sure makes my hardened PVE Python more useful. Mission rewards plus the bounties of the pirates, plus mats. "Interdicting me? Awesome! I need Dirty Drives, and a nice steak dinner" Good times.

If I could offer a brand new player perspective. I wanted to try elite for years but wasn't sure it was worth the money, but when they offered it for free for a week I had to try it.

I was just about to quit the game after struggling mightily my first few days. An NPC jumped me, I somehow managed to barely stay alive long enough for the cops to show up - I barely got a few shots in - then he exploded. After docking to repair I realized I made almost 400k from that encounter from the bounty and other bonuses.

That kept me in the game. It allowed me to buy a real ship and some upgrades. I see people saying the payouts are too much, but as I missed the Void Opal rush, it seems there's scant few ways for new players to make money fast.

And I need the credits, FAST. There's 400 billion star systems out there, there are things I want to see and do, this is the MOTHER of all sandbox games and the very last thing I need or want is some typical MMO "grind" right now standing in my way. I don't want realistic "economies". I don't want artificial barriers. I don't care about space politics. If I wanted all that, I would go back to Eve.

To the OP...do you think I could duplicate your success in something like an non-engineered Krait Mk II?? Or should I just go with the Fur-De-Lance and do nothing but farm bounties and haz rez for credits? I've been exploring for credits but it's very....repetitive. I'm very glad they increased the payouts for combat, it's kept me in the game. The only thing worst than being frustrated is being broke and frustrated lol.

This might be the greatest game I've ever played. Certainly the best space-based game ever.

Well for one thing: I'm married, siggghh. Gone are the days where I could spend my entire night, every night, on a game such as this.

And secondly, well, because I want stuff. Once I have the best of everything this game has to offer, THEN I can just slow down and enjoy it :)

Call me goal-driven I guess lol.

Well, being married immediately puts you ahead of the majority of people on here lol! ;)
