You can only purchase enhanced thrusters at an engineer who does thrusters, so Palin or Farseer in the bubble. They will be available in outfitting at their bases.

I've got a combat courier that's fairly chonky by courier standards, and it's one of the few builds I've encountered where Drive Distributors work better as an experimental than Drag Drives, just because G5 DD's on them reduce the optimal mass to virtually nothing.

One that I probably wouldn't do combat in, but is a great canyon runner (top speed 652 m/s and boosts 885 m/s), and the rest are all fine for combat against NPC's, including one that I just built which is certainly strong enough for combat (408 MJ shields, a fixed beam laser and two gimballed multi canons) but also pretty fast (top speed 639 m/s and boosts 867 m/s).
I swap my thrusters from Drags to Distro drive depending on what I'm doing... for max speed canyon hooning - drags. But if I fit up some gear to do some other stuff then I usually swap to Distro drives to get better performance with the extra weight fitted.

The CNR Saluki was inspired by the Swordfish II from Cowboy Bebop. Boosting to 884m/s with 48 light year jump range and can go 240 light years before needing to scoop. She has 307MJ of resistance augmented shields and can certainly defend herself with dual class 2 auto loading multi-cannon and a class 2 scramble spectrum pulse laser.
