Arduino Pro Micro clone plus MPU6050 motion sensor = low latency , cheap head tracking. You can build it on breadboard or etch a pcb or buy a custom PCB especially designed to help put it all together.

I use openscad for the design. The stl files should be downloadable from

Just click in the variant you want (noodle/flat usb or standard).
