3D Printed Elite Dangerous ships available | Anaconda - Cobra - Viper

Well done, you've managed to turn these around quicker than FD, who are still waiting to deliver their models for KS backers...

Am i the only one to think that these look SO CHEAP, but cost a Packet? You can see the Print lines, it's tiny, its............... Dog Pooh?

Maybe it is just me ?

PS. just taken another look to see if i was seeing things: I mean from the cockpit down, it looks as if the Conda is put together with planks of wood?? The cockpit windows look as it it is made of Icing sugar?

It's 3D printed sandstone so it's not super high definition but it a good model

People always underestimate the cost of 3d printing and overestimate the level of detail you can manage with it.

Go price up yourself how much for something like an Anaconda.

The prices here and level of details are what you can expect tbh.

Hi everyone,

well I've checked and these are official.

There is going to be a message about them in today's newsletter, so keep an eye out for that!

Oh Well each to their own i suppose, it's just for £20 odd quid plus P&P (I am estimating here) i would want a better detailed model. But if they become collectors items who knows!

Looks great to :) I'll be getting a Cobra as it remains one of my favorite ships and is iconic of Elite. R+ for posting the video. It certainly gives a good view of the model

As has been said, 3d printing is not a very hi-resolution process. It's really just for mock-ups and prototyping things.

Now, if they made a die form that model, and did some precision machining on that die, they could injection mold some more detailed models I would imagine.

Pretty poor quality imo. I would expect much better detail and paint/finish quality.

Paint? Its colored sandstone. Not bad for a 3D print really. Not exactly what I'm looking for personally though. I've had one of those 3D printed sandstone Kerbal Space Program statues and wasn't happy with it. Too fragile (but that's what I get for giving it to my son. He was 11 at the time and didn't treat it gently).
