I think @Chris Simon is saying that Horizons needs to be installed. You can just install Odyssey and not click "Install" (or "Upgrade") for the Horizon version (which also installs / updates the base game and Arena IIRC). So if you have not Installed or Updated Horizons then you can't select that to overcome a glitch in Odyssey. If I am misrepresenting what he meant then I hope he will correct me.
Just a side note because this always worked before so it gets recommended a lot.
Odyssey and Horizons are two different installations. So you can just switch between them unless you have them both installed. Not really a "quick and easy" solution anymore.
For player who didn't buy Odyssey this option isn't an option either, AFAIK. The "base game" now includes Horizons.
Ah. I think I misunderstood the "All base game owners will get Horizons" then.
Nonetheless, my point stands - if you get in trouble in Odyssey, you can't just switch to the Horizons version - you would have to have it installed as a separate client.

It doesn't sound like that, based on what Chris wrote before... He literally says "Odyssey and Horizons are two different installations. So you can just switch between them unless you have them both installed. Not really a "quick and easy" solution anymore." But that was the case even before with ED vs Horizons. You also had to have them both installed, that is nothing new...
No offence meant, I just want to understand where is Chris coming from, why is he saying what he is saying... Does he know about some new restrictions being put in place?
Also, the OP, although struggling to explain his problems in sufficient details, made it almost clear, that he does try to launch Horizons, and subsequently, he showed a screenshot, that proves he tries to "Recover to orbit", which is only possible, if you have Horizons installed...
Now the only question remains: if you do try to load Horizons and you do click"Recover to orbit", is there a bug, that it does not work for the OP, or is it some new feature, preventing players from solving their difficulties this way?
