Newcomer / Intro 3rd party stuff?

There's some tools, but I think most people are waiting for Frontier to create the official API. They've said that it is something they'd like to do, but right now other development features take priority.

Given the flux and flow and infinite changes of trade values ( and smuggle values ) and especially regarding the fact that you must be ONLINE ( Solo or Open doesn't matter ) to accept and do any kind of action in the game, the only API needed would be a ship outfitting app ( without price references as they change from station to station ).

So what kind of 3rd party tools would you consider useful ? ( plenty of trading notebooks around for crowd data )

The commodities prices change, but it's just not true that outfitting prices do the same. They don't. An A4 FSD costs 1.6 million credits in any station that sells it.

Repairs are cheaper in stations where you're allied with the controlling faction.

3rd party software that everyone should try:
Slopeys trading / logging tool
Voiceattack
Facetracknoir

Second that suggestion of VoiceAttack - it's as cheap as a phone app (free of you only want limited functions) and adds a lot to the game, even if you only use it to voice-activate a handful of commands. Should be compulsary.

Some sort of head tracker is also a great idea. TrackIR is the (expensive and full-featured) commercial option, but Facetracknoir is fine. Head-tracking adds SOOOOOO much to this game.
