4 second cyclops kill

so i watched a youtube video, guy drving an anaconda... 4 shard cannons, 4 advanced missile launchers.
killed the cyclops in what appeared to be 3 volleys.
set an anconda up.
same weapons.
didnt work.
have the thargoids been armoured up a bit?
just curious....

maybe get more utube

experience is no substitute

more important to it all is power of observation, situational awareness

you missed something.

Presumably brute forcing it. You can destroy a cyclops (but not the tougher ones) like this if you get very close and use premium ammo. It's not a long term strategy, the ammo is so expensive in materials to synth.

Its the advanced missile launcher that has the synth option to change to AX ammo, you have to add the ammo change before you arrive at the NHSS 5..
The Shard cannon may also have premium ammo applied...

This can be a lot of mats used for the kill... and can result in the boredom of mat collection later to replace those mats...

Use the exploit thats been around for a long time now.
Kill ships till ammo low then selfdestruct/get killed - rebuy refils all synthed ammo.

Frontier should just let people buy the synthed ammo, if they arnt going to fix the Exploit.

I knew about using the synthed ammo on the missiles and it's quite obvious that the cost don't match the result. You can't reload the missiles keeping the good ammo like you can a railgun or a pa so they not worth a damn. Anaconda is too darn slow too. Back to the unshielded krait or the mamba I think. As to the exploit thanks no thanks.

It's only really worth it if you are desperate to get a thargoid heart to unlock the bobble head, but (synth exploits aside) it's not really an entertaining way to fight thargoids.

So I'm now curious as to what's an entertaining way to fight thargoids?
Get a group of 4-8 players (but the instance might lag depending on the P2P host is selected as) and enter an AX combat zone,,.
Then as a group lower the cyclops health till the first heart shows kill the heart.. repeat untill all 4 hearts are gone...
Now a bas spawns and the group works to remove its 5 hearts..
Then a medusa is done the same way working it 6 hearts to zero...
Then the hydra arrives and a few people in low armoured kraits quit as they will not like dieing when tthe hydra targets them...
then the remaining 4 pleyers drag the hydra down to zero hearts and then the final kill after the shield drops... woot
That the fun way.
The ganking of a cyclops can be done very quickly as its an early kill interceptor which can still be killed with just AX multi cannons...

Its not the end game thargoid any more...

yeah but i'm something of a no mates trying to kill these things alone rofl (which as long as the target starts with a "c" i can do but if its a "b" or better this is gonna be expensive)

Going solo takes way to long for me to bother with any thing higher than bas... If a random stanger turns up then yep might do medusa but not normaly... It not worth my limited play time...

A friend and myself were saying the exact same thing today.
It also feels that anything above a bassy was designed for a team/teams. I know its posible alone but its just so much of a slog and time consuming, compared to a team.

Been there, done that. Not sure if it has been fixed.
But there IS a caveat to it:
The Clops can activate an emergency shield, in order to prevent a gibbing like this.
Also don't do this in 22460, as the shards won't work.

I did it about a year ago, no premium ammo used, just out of the box shard cannons.
