4 sidewinders (good rank) vs Python with 45m worth of beam lasers lol. [video]

I was interdicted by 4 NPC sidewinders, 1 deadly, 1 dangerous & 2 masters.
I had recently spent a fortune on upgrading my Python with 3x D3 turreted beam lasers, at almost 15m each, plus 2x F2 gimballed multi-cannons. I was happy to test them out.

It was quite a massacre, even though they almost got my shields down (only 1 pip though), i must admit the new AI is great, and i might have had problems with these if not for the new upgrades.

By the way, i am mainly a trader and equip well for defence, i am in no way an experienced dog fighter.

You had Chaff but didn't use it?

Plus, everytime some one puts turrets on a Python a Valkyrie cries.....don't you care about the Valkyries? ;)

didn't see a need, and i wouldn't expect npc sidewinders to have gimbals or turrets.
And no, don't care about the Valkyrie either.

Oh but those NPCs do use gimples....quite often (although it's hard to tell what they're using in the video TBH). Next time you're testing try it, it should save your shields some, as you left it it'd take you a SCB or 2 or about 7minutes to recharge those shields....not good news if you are interdicted a second time.

Today I dropped a Booster just to fit more chaff on my Python, as Master Vultures have been hammering away at my shields with gimples lately, it's a gamble I'm testing out to see if it pays out.

You waste energy and ammo by continuing to fire upon ships at 0% hull. They are dead already, it's all over bar the bang. As soon as they hit 0 disengage and move to your next target.
 
You may not have required to use a shield cell if you had managed your pips better. They were mostly wasted sitting stuck on an already full weapons capacitor.
 
Nice vid, shows how much perkier the AI is on the small ships. I interdicted a wing of 8 wanted small ships in my Vulture while bounty hunting, was way more fun and I got the feeling I had to fight and not just mow them down.

Yep, I had a scrap with a wing of 8 master NPC Sidewinders last night in my Vulture too. Bit hairy at the start, but got there in the end. Good fun.

I hit a USS last night on a Pirate killing mission, 1 Master Sidey....I pop him just as the KWS completes and my A Sesors pick up another 2 contacts, 2 Elite Vipers from the samne faction as the Sidey, I kill the 1st and I'm hurting the 2nd when gawd alone knows how many indeterminate blips appear on the scanner..over 6, thats for sure.

Already wanted for murder in the system (assassination mission, the money was too good) I don't waste time, forget about claiming the 2nd Viper, retract and spool up the FSD and get out of dodge. I've seen System Condas and Vipers jump into USSs in clouds like that so I'm not sticking around to find out.

The new AI is good, but the waves they send after you (when they really hate you) is a touch of awesome.
 
Nice fight. One critique: when the target is at 0%, stop firing. I noticed on the first ship you were still engaged at 0%, and kept the beams until he went boom. Let off the trigger to let that capacitor fill. Maybe just the heat of the battle had you not sure, good vid!
