Yea they fire slow as hell.
Yea their accuracy is junk sometimes.
But turret tracks silent running I think? Doing power play I'm getting more than my fill of PVP and silent running is a huge pain in the ass for me on my clipper since I mostly just have used gimballed weapons for the PVE efficiency and unless you put two fixed on one half your clipper and 2 other fixed type on the other half (like lasers on one side and rail guns on other side) fixed weapons seem pointless on clipper. Plus many ships people take out for PVP *feel* more maneuverable than the clipper to me (im' a newb though so I could be way wrong)
Has anyone tried this and does it suck?
One other thing I like (so far I've only tried using turrets for the large hard points, now considering putting pulses in mediums) is that turret lasers do not drain your power distributor much, you can run 4 pips in shields and you will not drain your power distributor (with two large lasers, i dunno about adding the 2 mediums)
