400,000 Ls from Entry Point?

I jumped into one place and as I was about to leave, feeling dejected at how there was nothing to explore...

400,000 LS away was something Unexplored.

First off....that is a very long distance.

Second off...I don't have a scanner that detect stuff that far away, so how the heck did I see it in the first place?

My guess, navigation beacon in the system was scanned.

You always see stars on the map no matter how far they are.
