400 billion problems, but money 'aint one...

The time has come, fellow Commanders, for me to spread my wings and fly.

My Asp [The Hammer] is locked and loaded, polished and primed, set and ready to go to the furthest reaches of the Milky Way, to boldly go...ahem, you get the idea.

Having traded constantly since launch, I feel confident enough [and have fully comprehensive insurance including valuables away from the home, not including garage cover] to now join the public servers, and head out into the blind. I want my name on those them there stars.

My question is: where do I go?

Fellow explorers, what sights are worth seeing on this 'Star Trek' that I am embarking on, or should I just pick a point of light, glimmering in the darkness, and head for it?

Nebulae and the center of the galaxy, specifically Sagittarius A (the supermassive black hole at the galaxy's heart) are the best things to see. The Orion and Horsehead nebulae are worth a visit and are a short trip, but if you want real exploration on suns nobody else has been to I would have to say go to Sagittarius and the surrounding systems.

Nah, once you get about 1000LY out, there are plenty of systems that still haven't been scanned. On my way out i found an unexplored system with 2 water worlds, an earthlike and 2 high metals that were candidates for terraforming, about 1500LY from Sol. Hoping its still not been claimed by the time i get back... but i'm very wary of returning until interdictions are toned down again.
