There has got to be a better way to punish those of us who want to bounty hunt and accidentally hit a friendly while doing so. I incurred a 400CR bounty. I now have to either wait 7 days or blow myself up in the same system in order to continue doing the activity I enjoy, where I enjoy doing it.
The bounty system in this game makes me want to go mow the lawn. My wife thanks the developers.
That's simply not true.
When you get a 400cr bounty for accidental assault, you simply turn around and boost away. Get your FSD going and jump to the next system. Go immediately to the nav beacon, where you can shoot a few bad guys while you're waiting. After 8 minutes, you can go back to where you were as if nothing happened.
When you get a 6000+ bounty for murder, you do the same, but you can't come back for a week, so get out your galaxy map and find the next nearest system with RESs. There, they won't know or care that you got a bounty in the other system. If you're a regular bounty hunter, look for three or four systems near each other with RESs, so that you can make a circuit going from one to the next each time you get a murder bounty because it's certain that you'll get them sooner or later. They're part of bounty hunting - nothing to complain about and easy to deal with.
You can cut the frequency of these accidental bounties right down by not using beam lasers or turrets. You don't need either of them for RES farming. Gimballed pulse lasers are good enough for everything.
