4200 lyrs from Sol and I picked up 3 Degraded Signal Emissions - normal?

I am presently at an undiscovered watery world, looking at wreckage of a degraded signal emission, and have picked up a cargo of data which is marked as wanted.

Is it normal to discover 3 of these in the same system 4200 lyrs out from Sol ? So I now have 3 tons of wanted cargo !

I am on a straight line between Jaques and the Bubble, returning to the Bubble and was surprised to find signal sources this far out.

Is it too risky carrying this wanted cargo when I get closer to the Bubble? I guess it attracts unwanted NPC attention. Any idea how far out?

Not regular no.. Distances from neatest outpost/station
But then again, they did make 6 truck stops with that CG recently and I think now in game although not sure where..
Within 1000 lyrs of those I assume will also generate the usual Degraded emissions and others. Survey cache small and large. Other wrecks with materials, etc.
If within 1000 lyrs of a station/outpost/planet base etc, then procedural generated stuff can happen

I think you need to get out past 5000 LY from Sol before the probability of finding these signals drops to zero. I haven't seen one in over a month.

I was on my way out from the Bubble to Jaques yesterday and encountered a couple of signal sources in a system in the Aucopp sector, just under 4KLY from Sol, I think. It is unusual to have multiple SS appear but I have encountered it before and I do wonder if there are any hot spots, or if the presence of certain planet types affects the probability (there was also a water world in the system where I saw these SS yesterday). Ultimately, unless they are recorded (there used to be a thread devoted to it but it's not maintained any more) it is impossible to know. I think the record distance to have seen a SS is about 9KLY but they are increasing rare the farther you go (probably an exponential fall-off, possibly with a hard stop at 10KLY, I suspect).

Likewise for me, I've ignored all of them probably 'Data Caches' but not seen any pop up since I moved past the 5000ly mark. Any cargo you pick up will attract npc attention on your return to the bubble.

They've been appearing for about a month, previous to that there were none as far as I recall. I have seen them quite a few thousand LY out just recently.

Thanks for the replies, all.

I guess it's "working as intended". The string of stations out to Jaques must have extended the BGS activity to generate these sources.

I will keep an eye out to see if they spawn more frequently at water/earth like worlds as I get closer to the Bubble.
