The Gladiator MK2 is very cheap (84$) compared to the rest... what's the reason? Is it a low quality product?

@jasonbarron Hey mate, yeh there is both a cheaper base (from virpil, the Warbrd base) and now, as @Overspark mentioned, an even more expensive one from vkb (thanks for that mate). VKB also has the gladiator, a much cheaper standalone stick, I almost bought one, as it has the important soft center and quality materials.
@SenseiMatty it's not modular, has a few less features, but where it counts it's a 'proper' joystick, not a high street one. Well worth the money, don't be fooled by the price, it's definitely better than anything that currently resides in my graveyard (see first page for reference).

Whelp...my x52pro has been flaking a bit. Nothing too bad yet, but enough to see the writing on the wall, so I took the plunge and ordered myself a VKB Gunfighter mkIII Space Combat Premium Grip. Looking forward to it. It showed in stock when I ordered it, so hopefully soon...
Finally received the Gunfighter Mk.III cam kit with the new Space cams (both hard and soft center). Tried out the hard center (Space-H) first as I was using the 30 cams (progressive hard center) up until now, but immediately realized that with the much lighter resistance at the edges the center felt much more pronounced. So I switched to soft centers (Space-S) and tougher springs (was using 10 before, 30 now). Man what a difference!
Soft center is much better for this game, but I was using hard center before because I was using the lightest springs to keep the resistance at the outer edges as low as possible. With the new soft center and linear resistance everywhere it feels like I'm much more in control of my spaceship, and it reacts far more like I'd expect to stick input. Massive improvement, everyone with a Gunfighter Mk.II should get them IMHO.
I'm also waiting for the new dust cover set to get in stock (should take care of some additional resistance from the rubber in the corners) but I don't think I'll do the electronics upgrade.
