45G planet

landed on 45g planet in koi 1701,no real problem, mounted srv and dismissed ship, had a spin around, good fun flat out no skidding around, recalled ship, and it appeared on scanner but didnt land, obviously the AI could cope, after 3 or 4 recalls still sat waiting, anyway logged out to ed back to horizons all was well, anyone else had this.

Crickey, I normally crater the ship landing on a 1g planet. I stay well clear of 4.5g let alone 45g. Respect.
All ships have magically enhanced bottom thrusters. Just glide shallow enough, level the ship and extract landing gear, then either blip FA OFF / FA ON repeatedly or tilt the ship a bit to any direction and back to level, until touched down.
Taking off takes some time and care. Thrust up a loooooong time, then when high enough (depends on thrusters and if you can boost), jump away. Or engage supercruise, if you're adventurous and sure that you can get your ship going fast enough above 45 degrees and the nose pointig the same direction simultaneously (see the latter half of my video for what I mean in practice. That was only 11G, but AFAIK 45G is exactly the same).

Takes a couple of brass ones to dismiss a ship on a 45 g planet... count yourself lucky it didn't even try to land.

Not only would gravity make earthlings flat, but a lightweight paperplane AspX, sort of 77 MJ puny shield style, would tip the scale at 16,000 ton. Strong legs!

We use the same space magic and handwavium in our body than the one used in the detritus and beverage aboard 0g station. That's how people can sit on the benches to.
Yes, I’m well aware of Elite’s space magic and handwavium. It’s a game predicated on the big lie that faster than light travel is possible, after all. And I’m good with all that.

But for my personal immersion and play style, I don’t land on any body that is more than 1.5g. A token nod to realism.

The series “The Expanse” impressed me with the way it addresses high g in space flight and the long term effects of living in low g on the human body.

I'm good with it only up to a limited point (how much depends upon the setting really); I've never remotely accepted "well there's some completely fictional stuff in there so anything goes." IMO a good sci-fi or fantasy setting establishes its exceptions to reality but otherwise sticks with reality as we know it. Plus some additional ones for gameplay reasons (e.g. get hurt on foot don't need to spend the next month in hospital, just instantly apply a few health packs).
