Proposal Discussion 4X Elite strategy game

As people have pointed out there are lots of these games flying about at the moment.

I am playing StarDrive at the moment which is very much like Masters Of Orion.

I enjoy the part where the map is randomly generated each game with a mix of races and so it is completely different each time.

I am sure though an elite mod could be done for one of these existing games if somebody wanted to do the data files and textures etc.

I'm afraid I'll have to agree with Captain N on this one. I can see the appeal of a 4X/RTS game with the level of detail and scope of E:D, but I can't see it delivering very appealing gameplay and strategizing without directly contravening some basic premises of the setting.

Woo interesting, an Elite 4xx game. You could even introduce it as a mini-game inside Elite Dangerous, kinda like an item you buy off the market, or a mission reward etc, that gives you a fully functioning mini elite game, inside the game itself. (Think box inside a box) - something that may add to the elite universe :)
